The relocation project is a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). Anglian Water submitted a Development Consent Order (DCO) application to the Planning Inspectorate (PINS) in April 2023, which was accepted for examination on 24 May 2023.
The DCO application is subject to an Examination undertaken by the Examining Authority on behalf of PINS, which will include considering valid representations made by all interested parties. PINS will then provide a recommendation to the Secretary of State for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), who will determine whether to approve the application. We anticipate this will be in late 2024.
We are currently in the six-month examination phase of the DCO process which began in October 2023.
The first set of hearings which included the Preliminary Meeting, an Open Floor Hearing and two Issue Specific Hearings were held on Tuesday 17 October and Wednesday 18 October.
